About Circular Saws
New Lanka Tools stocks 11 circular saws for straight, fast cutting in timber and sheet material. A circular saw is the most practical tool for breaking down plywood, MDF and boards on site, where carrying the work to a table saw is not an option. Bosch is the most represented brand with 4 machines, followed by Dong Cheng with 3, GAOCHENG with 2 and Dewalt. The range covers common blade diameters for general carpentry through to larger machines for thicker stock. Carpenters, joiners, formwork and shuttering crews, ceiling and partition installers, furniture makers and site builders all use circular saws. Anyone fitting out an interior — cutting plywood, cement board or panelling to size — will get more use out of this than almost any other saw. Applications include ripping and cross-cutting timber, breaking down plywood, MDF and blockboard, cutting formwork and shuttering to size, cutting decking and cladding, and with the right blade, cutting cement board and light non-ferrous material. Blade choice does more for cut quality than machine choice. A coarse blade with few teeth rips fast but tears the face; a fine-toothed blade gives a clean edge in veneered board but cuts slower and loads up in wet timber. Set the depth so the blade projects only slightly below the workpiece — it is safer, reduces tear-out and puts less load on the motor. A guide rail turns a circular saw into a genuinely accurate panel saw, and one is stocked in our catalogue. For repeatable angled cuts and mouldings a mitre saw is the better tool, and for ripping long boards accurately a table saw wins — both are stocked in the neighbouring categories. Blades are consumables and available on enquiry. Genuine stock, warranty support, and a repair centre for selected brands. Visit No: 120, Princess Gate, Colombo 12, or WhatsApp +94 77 111 8880 with the blade size and material you are cutting for availability and a quotation.
